This picture epitomizes my aesthetic sense completely: The '80s fashion, urban decay, the beauty of nature in the form of the light hitting the canal water, a slight sense of menace from the background. If the light were less bright & cheery the scene would be goth & gloomy, perhaps dangerous. The teenage girl illuminated in the center is aware of her sense of style & just where to sit in the light beam both for good lighting & to seem as if the light directly transported her right to that gloomy spot from the bright 'n shiny future.
I think I'm having a retrogasm. If only my own '80s teenagerhood were this together & shiny!
